Puggle Love

It's "Puggle-Love" all of the way! Without a doubt, my Puggle is the most adorable pet I've owned in the past ten years. Puggles are a mix of Beagle and Pug. Breeding these two types produces an energetic hound with short legs and hair, wrinkly black facial features, and coloring that is light to dark tan.

In the first few days, I owned Angel, I knew she would exceed all of my expectations. Angel was easy to train. Within the first few months, she learned all of the basic commands: sit, stay, leave it, roll over, and get down.

Since Puggles weigh between 14-25 pounds they make excellent lap dogs. Angel camps out on my lap while I'm reading a book or scheduling my daily appointments. She is worse than a child is where it comes to wanting attention, and if I don't give it to her immediately she yelps until I do. That really isn't a bad thing.

The veterinarian told me early on that small breeds can be more demanding. It has something to do with their size in the animal kingdom. At first, I was concerned that a Puggle wasn't a good choice for my family, but the veterinarian assured me that they are good with children and easy to train and thus far, this has been true.

Angel has never had a potty accident. It took minimal time to potty train her to go in a box. Yep, just like a cat. My Angel doesn't bother me to go outside although she loves to run. Instead, she quietly goes in her litter box. Of course, we do go for walks frequently. What dog doesn't love to walk with their master?

As we walk, people are real curious as to what breed she is. When I tell them she is a mix of a Pug and Beagle, people get a surprised look on their face. They can't believe the breeding of these two dogs has produced such a tame and loving animal. I can! Because I am totally in love with this breed of dog.
